Dry eyes occur when your eyes do not produce or retain tears properly. It is very common especially in women after menopause where there is reduced production due to chronic inflammation of the conjunctiva or instability of the tear film secondary to hormonal changes.

Pain and redness of the eye
Heavy eyelids/ Difficulty keeping eyes open
Stinging or burning of the eye
Eye tiredness
Blur vision
What are the treatments for dry eyes?
If you are experiencing one or more dry eye symptoms, here are some treatments that you can consider as the first line of therapy:
Use artificial tears up to 4 times daily
Use preservative free artificial tears if required more frequently
Use eye gels to sleep at night
Keep good lid hygiene
